A hair braider is an individual authorized by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) to braid hair, and may only attach hair through braiding, and not through the use of chemicals or adhesives. Additionally, a hair braider may only trim hair extensions as part of the braiding process, and may not alter hair in any other way.
Hair Braider Certificate Renewal
To renew their certificate, a hair braider is required to take 4 hours of continuing education, including 1 hour of material dealing with sanitation. Our TDLR-approved course covers the following topics:
- Sanitation (1 hour)
- Skin (1 hour)
- Hair & Nails (1 hour)
- OSHA Regulations (1 hour)
Total: 4 hours of continuing education credits.
